Gordon Brown issued a warning yesterday that the UN millennium development goals will be missed unless international resolve hardens. Speaking at the international gathering of bishops in Lambeth, south London, Brown sought to enlist their help in meeting the development goals, which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/Aids and providing universal primary education, by 2015.
